Platform: Welded tubular steel with expanded
metal ~oor and 6" toe plate. Recessed top rail to
eliminate pinch points, easy entry half gate. 500 lbs. (225
kg) capacity, unrestricted, with boom in any position. Upper
control box is sealed to protect the components from the
elements. Easy-to-read decal. Replacement decal is designed
to "slip over" without removal of any controllers
or switches. All drive functions are fully proportional, and
all boom functions are variable. Both models come standard
with 1200 hydraulic platform rotation.
Boom Design:
A tubular steel lower boom is connected to the upper boom
with the use of a mid-pivot joint. Slave cylinder provides
platform leveling that is maintenance free. Lift cylinders
include integral holding valves, along with manual lowering
valves for independent lowering of each assembly.
Terrain Capability:
All electric drive "A" series booms come standard
with 600x9 solid rubber tires. These machines with their
5" ground clearance will work on all "slab
type" job-sites. Optional flotation air tires will
allow these machines to be used for "off-slab
type" jobs as well.
Chassis:
Chassis is designed the same for both machines so all
components will interchange from one to another. All options
can be installed without any chassis modification on both
models.
Drive System: Both
machines are two wheel fully proportional direct electric
drive with power supplied by an electric motor on each drive
wheel, with a high speed of 2.4 mph. Both drive wheels are
also supplied with an electrically released spring applied
brake. These brakes are automatically applied anytime the
drive controller is returned to the neutral position.
Weight:
A38 has a gross weight of 10,500 lbs. A42J has a gross
weight of 12,500 lbs (with a 4' Jib). Both machines are
designed to be self-loading onto most trailers.
Accessibility:
Lightweight removable covers on the "turret" allow
access to pump and motor, hydraulic manifold, battery
charger, hydraulic
tank and return filter. The hinged cover on the rear axle of
the chassis allows access to the electric drive components
and the state-of-the-art microprocessor.
Ground Controls:
Secondary control system with a NEMA drip-proof enclosure,
conveniently located on the right side of the tower at eye
level allows the operator to see the lower controls at all
times. The three dimensional decal easily identifies
switches for all functions. All of the "A" series
booms use a Sevcon MOS 90C controller with the latest
state-of-the-art Mosfet and microprocessor technologies.
These controllers are highly efficient for small to medium
sized electric vehicles such as personnel lifts. The
powerful microprocessor used in the MOS 90 range offers
advanced features previously unavailable in such a compact
controller.
